ECM Feasibility Study/Pilot
Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is broad enough to touch most areas within an enterprise. For that reason, every ECM implementation must be supported by a solid business case – which is why at Symbiosys Business Solutions we propose a planned and detailed Feasibility Study/Pilot.
Our Feasibility Study/Pilot strategy includes:
- Understanding the core business objectives of the organisation and how the ECM solution can help achieve them
- Defining a purpose/mission statement of the ECM Solution
- Understanding the business and IT stakeholders in order to define project team composition, users and audiences
- Reviewing existing ICT infrastructure and defining requirements for hardware/software licenses/certificates
- Defining ECM integration with current or planned systems
- Defining governance, compliance and security policies
- Identifying expected workflows, content sources, reporting integration, monitoring/user tracking and business classification scheme
- Defining the optimal approach for successful delivery of the project
- Devising a formal information architecture and topology
- Establishing the scope of the requirements and delivery
- Setting up the necessary infrastructure
- Developing the information architecture and topology
- Configuring and developing the end solution
- Deploying and training the end users.
In addition the pilot will gather information on ‘blue sky’ needs, long term expected/desired use, scope of users (intranet, Internet and extranet), infrastructure and security. Ultimately, it will provide the framework for developing the optimal ECM solution.
